The 'Selections' Process is the task of our choosing (or selecting) all or some of the permanent items to be installed in a job, be it a house, condo, villa or building, for example. Just a few examples of these items may be:
Flooring (interior & exterior): wood flooring,carpeting, stone (travertine), tile (porcelain, ceramic),clay or concrete pavers etc. We chose Travertine (stone) flooring for the Bath shown at right, as well photograph.
Cabinets & Cabinet Hardware: for kitchen, bathroom,wet-bar, out-door grill area, etc. We chose more 'delicate' drawer pulls and cabinets for a Master Bathroom shown in right photograph.
Counter-tops: may be stunning granite (such as theones we chose shown on all of these counter-top photographs), synthetic composite stone, plastic laminate, tiles, even stained & polished concrete, etc.
Electrical Fixtures: hanging, wall, or ceiling mountedlight fixtures, ceiling fans, wall sconces, coach lights, etc. Lighting & ceiling fans are often considered the 'jewels' on a house. There is an overwhelming variety of styles on the market, so careful selection is a must! We chose a 'Spanish' style coach-light for a 1920's Spanish Renovation, shown on lower-right photograph. Also, at bottom-left, ceiling lighting we chose for adjoining rooms.
Appliances: Cooktop, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator,wine cooler, etc. All chosen in finish to match cabinetry hardware, and coordinated to match house style. Often we may choose to 'cover' the face of the appliances with the same material used on the cabinets, so as to help make the appliances visually 'disappear'. We chose sleek contemporary glossy black glass fronted & topped appliances for Kitchen at lower-left photograph.
Wall tile Selection & Design: Shower tile, Kitchen &Bath back-splash tile, etc). Stone, ceramic, clay, or even glass tiles as shown at left (and oceany blues contemporary glass mosaic listello below-left). We select tile pieces, including coordinating grout color & type, and create custom (one-of-a-kind) patterns, such as tile backsplash shown on upper-left photo, and (below), hand-crafted glazed sea-turtle surrounded by blue-green transluscent glass mosaic tiles, bordered in travertine (stone) surround & field tile. Then, we prepare easy-to-follow shop drawings for your tile installer to use. See upper right for one of our sample shop drawings.
Swing doors (Interior & Exterior): We can select froma group of 'stock' (generic styles of) doors, such as those shown on lower-right photo, or we can design a Custom door design for you, including verified Impact-Resistant Front Solid Mahogany door designs & transoms. Also, any custom or stock bi-fold, pocket doors, etc. would be chosen to coordinate with swing doors chosen.
Door Hardware: Locksets, latchsets, thresholds, etc.:selection of appropriate door hardware & finish based on house style. We used solid bronze hardware on the doors shown at right.
Plumbing Fixtures: Such as sinks & faucets. 'Finish'(color) of all exposed parts to match house style/theme. For example: a 'Mediterranean' style house would usually have dark 'oil-rubbed finishes in lieu of shiny brass or silver-looking faucets, etc. Photo at left shows a faucet, mirror & toilet accessories (towel ring, towel bars), in brushed nickel.
