We vaulted the existing 8'-0" ceiling (new roof trusses) to create exciting new ceilings. We arched the existing wall opening and added stain-wood corbels at each side to soften this transition. We demolished the back door & window wall and replaced with new arched 'bookshelf' niche. Sunlight filters in from new 10'-0" high addition behind, where back-yard used to be. New hand-scraped lighter (warmer) maple floors through-out replaced water-damaged darker wood floors. Two-tone paint colors & stained crown moulding/trim adds richness without stuffiness

Front Door

Existing front door & windows were salvaged and donated to a re-sale store. New dramatic solid mahogany stained pair of front doors (side-lites & transom) were installed in new location centered in room as a focal point. We carefully chose light fixtures through-out which matched the period of the new house style, however recessed-light fixtures in new ceilings give an 'updated' touch (nice blend of 'old meets new'). Same with door hardware.

Bathroom

Existing plumbing fixtures & window were donated by Owner to re-sale store. Existing tile & toilet wall demolished & re-constructed to create a more functional & beautiful bathroom layout. 'His & Hers' wood column-cabinets are functional (personal storage). We chose faucet & towel-bar styles to reflect new house 'style'. We selected a more 'delicate' door & drawer-pull to balance out the 'heavier' items. Our custom towel & shampoo niche over tub is a nice contrast from the more 'pale' colors around tub area. Painted bead-board ceiling keeps the bathroom from appearing too 'heavy'. Ceiling-mounted light fixture (shown at right) ties-in with granite colors. Balancing colors, textures & finishes make this new bathroom a success. Our deep large arched-soffit over vanity gives a focal point.

Garage Conversion to Contemporary Pool Bath (& Game-Room)

Existing Garage Workshop converted to new Pool Bath (and Game-Room). New floor plan, windows, cabinets. We installed a multi-color blue Glass Mosaic tile Listello around entire bathroom at a unique height to "bring the eye up", since we kept the low 8'-0" ceilings. To maintain the feeling of 'water' as pool and ocean are close-by, we used soft natural 'white' Marbella Shellstone on floors & walls. Square sink in leiu of standard oval sink for easier washing of bathing-suits. Bead-board cabinetry adds to 'beachy' feeling.
