One of our specialties includes the creation of 'seamless' Additions. By 'seamless', we mean an Addition that is so well designed, that you cannot tell which side of the house (townhouse, villa, etc.) came first! This becomes even more important when dealing with a historic structure, when the Addition needs to look the exact age as the rest of the house. Sometimes when adding an Addition it becomes essential to give the rest of the existing house a 'face-lift', especially in older homes where design may be out-dated or original design may not have been very exciting, or has become run-down looking. Please see our Renovations page for more information. See below for a sample 'Addition' (& Renovation) we designed for one of our Bradenton, Florida Customer's:

New Addition Design for New York Lakeside 'Camp'
Before:
For the Existing House shown: Since these (above) photos were taken, the Contractor (per our design plans) has demolishedthe small 'Mudd-Room' at the front-left corner, including the Entry Porches & decks. As shown below, we then designed a brand new larger Mudd-Room, new Full Kitchen with new Wrap-Around Porches, all oriented to take advantage of the stunning lake views.
After:
This new addition willhave matching siding, roof tiles, roof pitch, window styles & paint colors, so thatthe new addition looks like a 'seamless' addition to the existing home. After completion one will never tell it wasn't there all along!
Dressing up a large empty wall space is easy to do with a little imagination! Using the same bead-board & chair-rail as used on the Mudd-Room's lower wall: Installed instead from the sloped ceiling downwards, tying the two spaces together - and - makes a much more interesting large wall space than just plain wall paint.
Section thru Kitchen & Mudd-Room Interior(Refrigerator Wall)
Double-sided glass-lite upper Kitchen cabinetsact as 'windows' to and from the narrow Mudd-Room behind, bringing in natural light from windows beyond and making the entire space 'feel' even larger!Awning transom cabinets allow for ventilation between the two rooms, aiding in heating & cooling consistency between the two rooms.
Section thru Kitchen & Mudd-Room Interior(Oven Wall)
Window Wall:A dramatic large arched window brings in lots ofbright natural light and allows for amazing views of the lake beyond.A long narrow breakfast bar allows for a cozy spot to eat meals, read a magazine, or chat with the cook!
